1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Rewrite Genie ("we," "us," or "our"). By installing, accessing, or using the Rewrite Genie Chrome Extension (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use immediately.

2. The Service

Rewrite Genie is a chrome extenstion tool that provides text rewriting and proposal generation assistance. The Service enables users to:

• Rewrite user-provided text in different tones and styles.

• Generate personalized proposals for Upwork (freelance platform) using user-provided profile details and job information.

We may modify, update, or discontinue the Service, or any feature of it, at any time without notice.

3. User Accounts and Responsibilities

• Account Creation: Certain features require account registration through a third-party sign-in service (e.g., Google). You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep your account details current.

• User Conduct: You are solely responsible for the text you input ("User Content") and how you use the generated output. You agree not to use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive purposes, or in violation of third-party rights.

• Third-Party AI: You acknowledge that Rewrite Genie relies on third-party AI services (e.g., OpenAI) to process User Content. Use of the Service is also subject to those providers’ terms.

4. Data and Privacy

Our data handling practices are described in our Privacy Policy. Key points:

• Local Storage: Freelancer profile details (e.g., name, portfolio) are stored only in your browser’s local storage.

• Ephemeral Processing: User Content and generated output are processed through third-party AI but are not permanently stored by us.

• Account Data: We store limited account information (email address, subscription plan, and usage counts) to manage your subscription and enforce plan limits.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

• Plans: The Service offers subscription plans (Free, Plus, Pro, Ultimate) with different feature access and limits.

• Billing: Subscriptions are managed and billed through Paddle, our third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you agree to Paddle’s terms and recurring billing until cancellation.

• Plan Management: You can manage, upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription anytime by clicking Manage in the Rewrite Genie popup, which links to your Paddle dashboard.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

• Our Service: All rights, title, and interest in the Service (including code, logos, graphics, and UI) remain our property. You may not copy, modify, distribute, resell, or lease any part of the Service.

• Your Content: You retain ownership of your User Content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process your Content solely to provide the Service.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We make no guarantees regarding accuracy, reliability, or completeness of generated output.

8. Limitation of Liability

• No Guarantee of Outcomes: Rewrite Genie is a writing assistance tool. It does not guarantee contracts, income, clients, or business success. Your results depend on factors outside our control, such as:

  • The quality and completeness of your freelance profile

  • Your portfolio, reviews, ratings, and past work experience

  • Your ability to communicate effectively via text, calls, or interviews

  • Client budgets, preferences, and hiring decisions

  • Market demand in your industry

• No Liability for Losses: We are not responsible for lost income, wasted Connects, missed opportunities, rejected proposals, account suspension, or any other outcome related to your freelance career.

• Damages Disclaimer: IN NO EVENT shall we or our officers, employees, or agents be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption.

• Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rewrite Genie against any claims, damages, or costs (including attorney’s fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or breach of these Terms.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account or access to the Service, at our discretion, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or misuse the Service.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India for any legal matters arising from these Terms.
